In the episode "Nuthin Special," her special "ability" is revealed to be the ability to curl her tongue (Blossom and Bubbles cannot do this, nor can anyone else in Townsville). For example, in the episode "Cover Up," she had a soft green blanket that she was obsessed with that she would hug that gave her the confidence to be a better fighter, and she is quite protective over her sisters. She has shown these sides, and a softer side in several episodes. She also showed a greedy side in "Moral Decay," which she knocked out teeth for the sole purpose of obtaining money. Sometimes this, and her aggression get the better of her simultaneously, making her a little reckless and stubborn (but she overcame it in "Makes Zen To Me"). Referred to in the ending theme as "the toughest fighter," she is the group's tough member and is easily enraged. She wears a green sleeveless dress which has a black stripe running through the middle, white socks and black Mary Jane shoes. However, in "Cover Up," she shows a softer side.īuttercup is a 5-year-old girl, the middle sister, with black hair and green eyes. Her main ingredient is spice which reflects her being very tough. She still believes she can fight monsters without taking a bath until a monster forcedly surrendered and leave her because she stinks causing Buttercup to reluctantly taking a bath because she wants to fight monsters. Her arrogantly beliefs has cause her family, friends and the entire citizens of forcing her to take a hike due to her being dirty. In "Down n Dirty", Buttercup (unlike Blossom and Bubbles) hates taken a bath believing it is for sissies. This was until she was punished by Blossom and Bubbles for greedy obsession. In "Moral Decay", she became so greedy for dollar coins when she beaten up the criminals and steal their teeth for coins. She is also shown to be the type of person who nearly-always disregard advices and warnings from the surroundings even though they did told her at first that there will be consequences or risk-taking problems that may occur. She was just named that for it starting with a "B" just like her sisters, Blossom and Bubbles, which is, in fact, the cause of her sour personality.īuttercup's overall nature is being a vain, and stubborn girl, who's known to be a very violent, arrogant, and sometimes have shown to be narcissistic as well. In short? They're (understandably) pissed they missed out on a normal childhood since they were busy fighting baddies.Buttercup's name isn't based on any personality. The new live-action installment is set about 20 years after the original series and follows the now-adult Powerpuff Girls as they grapple with the aftermath of their upbringing. Now, instead of just retelling the original story, The CW is actually continuing it. The girls showcased superhero powers and with the help of Utonium, they regularly saved their town from evildoers. The show was created by Craig McCracken and followed Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup - three kindergarteners who were accidentally created in a lab by the well-meaning Professor Utonium. Viewers fell in love with the Powerpuff Girls via the animated Cartoon Network series that ran from 1998 to 2005 (as well as a few movies, specials, and a three-season reboot in 2016). And although Yana Perrault, who plays Buttercup in The CW's Powerpuff Girls, might be a newcomer to the screen, from the look of things, she's just as epic as her beloved character. In fact, two of the actors playing the superheroes, Dove Cameron (Bubbles) and Chloe Bennet (Blossom), are likely very familiar faces. Your favorite crime-fighting trio is officially coming back in a new version of The Powerpuff Girls, but this time they're gonna look a lot more lifelike.
